Below glade is unusual looking oak forest with Quercus prinus and Quercus muhlenbergii. Road at base of slope leads to private residences. Across river is WMA. Uphill are agricultural lands.;Steep open sandstone bedrock outcrop with SE aspect above on outside bend in river. Massive sandstone has vertical cracks which support tough rooted herbs and scattered, stunted trees. Recent rains have washed litter and mosses downslope. Trees include juniper, Virginia pine, and post oak, many are dead. Site hosts largest known occurrence of Talinum teretifolia in WV.
